Deceased was a commercial traveller, but at one time was in business in Timaru as a tobacconist. The referee pulled him out mid-way through the final, and Teece got tho tight. Bye. —D. Ricketts (Palmerston North), 10.12. Pinal (three rounds). —Ricketts v. Teece: The Palmerstonian was very active in the first spell. He also led well into the second, but Teece made a slight recovery. In the final flutter he landed a wicked right, but stoodby for Ricketts’ breather, instead of stepping up with "something.” On points the referee had no option but to award the decision to Ricketts. Heavy Weight. W .Hunt (Palmerston Narth), 11.12, v. R. Ropata (Shannon), 11.12: The Maori took severe punishment from the start, and he was In a bad way when no-side was called. Hunt hit hard. Bye.—Ford. Final (three rounds). —Hunt v. Ford: Ford went to the floor twice early in the first round, the second time to count of “three.” Hunt was landing everything, and near the end of the two minutes the referee stopped the fight, after Ford had pluckily refused an earlier chance to discontinue. A special bout of six rounds was staged by W. Waldron, of Palmerston Nox'th (10.3) and L. Frame, of Dunedin, (10.6). For the first four rounds the local boy had the advantage, and although Frame made a temporary come-back he was well worsted at the end of the sixth. Frame was obviously out of condition and should make a good showing at a later date. The Officials. Those responsible for the success of the evening were; Messrs H. E. Bennett (president), J. Purves (secretary), J. L. Morton (treasurer) H. D. Young and C. F. Cronin, who assisted with the staging of the bouts.
