The Government’s intention to carry out the Labour policy of no secret treaties was announced in the House of Commons by Mr Ponsonby, In moving the second reading of the Treaty of Peace with Turkey Bill. He staled that the Government intended lo lay every treaty when signed on the table of both Houses for twenty-one days before ratification. The publication of important treaties could be discussed if desired. Thus secret treaties would be rendered Impossible. (Ministerial cheers). The. Government would also inform the House of all agreements which might in any way bind the nation to specified action in certain circumsts nces.
