HE NEVER KNEELS
[By Electric Cable- -Copyright] [Aust. and N Z. Cnh'e Melbourne; April 2. A play Is being produced in a city theatre in which the chorus wear kilts but their legs are, clothed in tights. A prominent Melbournian Scot protests through the press against tights as an insult to the Scottish race. He says; "A Scotchman’s knees have been his proudest possession for centuries. Two things a Scotchman won’t do with his knees —bend them or cover them. It is all very well to pander to certain opinion, but it should not he done at the expense of the Scotch —the salt of the earth. The enemies of Scotland have always been awed by the knees of her fighting men." The writer pleads that the knees of the chorus should be equally inspiring.
