HUGE EXTRACTIONS FROM TREASURY DENTAL GROUND ADDED TO U.S. SCANDALS [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] \ NEW YORK, March 31. [ The record of frauds and scandals was augmented to-day with the indictment of seven dentists, charged with collecting huge sums from the Government, without doing the requi-, Bite work-for service men. The Fed-, eral District Attorney proved that sums aggregating 200,000 dollars monthly , were paid to dentists operating in the States of New York, New Jersey and Delaware, who, under the ex-servicemen’s rehabilitation laws, filed claims for dental work upon veterans, without actually doing a tithe. In other cases, brass fillings were used.. Instead of gold and inferior metal and bridgework, in serious injuries. One dentist received 22 000 dollars in one month, although ho'did less than 100 dollars worth of work. Wholesale indictments are further promised. NEW YORK, March 31. A “ New York Times ” Washington correspondent says. Although two resolutions are pending in the Senate requesting Mr Roosevelt’s resignation and the investigation of Mr Mellon, these being part of a concerted attacx upon President Coolidgo’s Cabinet, the legislative body is feeling the effect of the tightening of the reins by the leaders of both _ parties. The Senate will return to its legislative function shortly. President Coolidge has called a conference at White House for the purpose of further passage of tax reductions, farmers’ aid, etc. Plans are being made to secure a Congressional adjournment in Juno to permit legislators to participate in the ensuing campaign. Both conventions will precipitate n fight, and observers predict that) the scandals have already created sufficient material to assure the hottest contest since the election of 1912.
