WEDDING BELLS

A very pretty wedding: took place at Cuba street Methodist Church on Wed nesday last, when Harold Melrose, second son of‘Mr and Mrs Harry Cole, of 31 Bryant street, Palmerston North was united in matrimony to Minnie, eldest daughter of the late ‘ Mr and Mrs William Gilmour, of Wellington, The; Church was attractively decorated by friends of the bride/ The Rcv_ H. T. Peat officiated, while Miss Lorna Hod tier presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr William Gilmour,' of Wei. lington, was charmingly attired in ivory radium laoe, with an overdress of figured marocaln, faced pink, and trimmed with pearls and a pearl cabochon. maid was Miss Elsie Cole, sister of the bridegroom, wearing a frock of shell pink crepe-de-chine with Valenciennes lace in early Victorian style. A dainty black hat with osprey trimmings, ana a bouquet of asters completed the outfit. Miss May Gilmour was the other bridesmaid, and she was attired in mauve and lempn shot taffeta, in Victorian style, and a black hat. She carried a bouquet of narcissus. Little Olive Cole was flower girl, and presented a pretty picture in embroidered organdie muslifi, with a bouquet of pink and white lilies. Mr Victor McElwain, cousin of the bridegroom,' was best man, and ‘Mr Jack Gilmour, brother of the bride, was groomsman.

The bouquets were made and presented by Mrs H. Langford. After the ceremony the bride was presented with a beautiful silver horse-shoe by Miss Viola Langford. The happy couple left later for New Plymouth, the bride travelling in a navv costume and hat with jade plume, to match.
