LATE SPORTING.

TROTTING IN AUSTRALIA .

CONFERENCE ADOPTS FOLIC Y.

[By Electric Cable— Copyright] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Tuesday, 2 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 1.

The Trotting Conference concluded with a vote of thanks to Mr P. Selig, President of the New Zealand Trotting Association, for his able presidency and the experienced assistance he had afforded the gathering. Among the nineteen resolutions adopted, generally dealing with trotting interests, it was decided that a controlling body be established in each State of the Commonwealth with powers similar to those of the N.Z. Trotting As - sociation, such controlling bodies to enter into reciprocal relations, and that all suspensions and disqualifications for malpractice imposed by any controlling body be recognised and endorsed by reciprocating bodies, including New Zealand. The rules adopted provided against the duplication of the names of horses for registration and clearance certificates of imported horses, for official records of the first, second and third placings, and for the inspection of imported horses. It was decided to appoint an agent in Sydney to act on behalf of the various controlling bodies in the Commonwealth. The New Zealand proposal to hold conferences at regular intervals was favoured, but not finished. • '

Sir Andrew's time in the Metropolitan Handicap is an Australasian record.
