A notable, feature about to-day's market- was the sudden jump up in values for i'at sheep, of which there was a short yarding'. Store Sheep.—A good yarding for this time of the year, and a keen sale for ewes and hoggets, with wethers about the same. Good sound-mouth-ed ewes fetched 37/6, failing-mouthed ewes 26/-, aged and inferior 18/- to 21/ y; extra good crossbred ewe hogpel's, '2S/S to 29/6; ordinary ewe. bogpets' 24/- to 26/-; fairly good halfbred ewe' hoggets, 27/-; good half-bred wether, 2-J/3; good crossbred wether hoggets, 22/9; ordinary crossbred wether'hoggets, 20/- to 22/6; good half-bred two, four and six-tooth wethers, 30/. to 30/fi; ordinary two, four and six-tooth wethers, 27/- to 28/0; two and four-tooth half-bred wethers, 27/9; ordinary four, six and eight-tooth wethers, 27/- to 2S/7. Fat Lambs. —340 were penned. The first consignment >' ol ' luo ot >'" a Tunnel arrived from the West. Coast In good condition, and topped the market. Values were unaltered. Fat Sheep.—A small yarding, with a big jump in prices, averaging from 2/6 to 5/- per head. . Best wether made to 7Jd. per lb.; medium. 6£d. to 7|d.; good ewe, 5Jd. to 6?.; light, to fid. Extra prime wethers fetched 41/to 43/-; a few special, 45/6; prime. 37/6 to 40/6; medium, 34/6 to 37/-; light, 30/. 1o 34/-; extra prime ewes. 36/- to 38/-; :l few special, 39/9; prime, 32/6 to 35/6; medium. 2S/6 to 32/-; light, 24/6 to 28/-; old, 19/0 to 24/-. Fae Cattle.—A heavy yarding of r,22 bead, with a drop ol' about 15/- to 2ii/- per head. Extra good beet made 32/-: good, 27/- to 29/-; medium. 24/6 to 26/-; rough. 15/- to 22/6. Extra prime steers sold at £l4 10/. 1o £l7 5/-; prime, £lO 15/- to £l3 10/-; medium, £8 to £lO 10/-; inferior. £5 15/to £7 15/-; extra prime heifers, £lO 7/6: prime, £7 to £9; ordinary, £" 15/t;0 £6 15/-; extra prime-cows, £9 15/-; prime, £6 lo £S 10/-; ordinary, £4 15/to £5 15/-. Stor e Cattle. —These met with a good demand for all better classes or stock. Good three-year steers. £6: two-year, £2 10/- to £3; yearling, £1 5/-; two-year-old heifers sold for £2 to £2 12/6. Dairy Cattle.'—-The demand Avas not good and sales hard to make. Second, third and fourth calvers brought £5 10/- to £8 10/-; pood. £lO 10/-; springing heifers, £4 in/- to £7 10/-: good. £9: aged and inferior. £2 10/-.
