ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
SiAORI GIRL BROWNED IX POOL. (Per Press Association). ROTORUA, Last Night. Shortly after >hree o'clock this afternoon a Maori girl, aged two years, Ripeka, Wharepapa, was drowned in a warm pool at Whakarewarewu, while bathing with a sister, aged four years, who went to get a drink at a tap twenty yards distant. On returning, she found deceased unconscious in the pool and puiled her out, but medical aid failed to restore animation. DEATH FOLLOWS MOTOR SMASH. NAPIER. Last Night. Mrs. Dampney, aged 38, of Te Pohue died at the. hospital to-day as tho result of injuries received in a motor accident'. Deceased suffered from a lacerated ankle and gangrene set in. No inquest, will bo necessary.
