REJECTED SUITOR

While the city streets were most crowded with men and women leaving offices, a pretty Irish girl named Josephine O'Reilly reeled screaming into Lombard-street from St. George's Yard, with a knife wound in her side. In St. George's Yard a young man was found lying with a wound above the heart. The girl was carried into Barclay's Bank, where she was employed, and was afterwards taken to a hospital. wher-.> is was found that she waa seriously hurt. She was unable to make a coherent statement. The mail Rodney Geary, a clerk in the London County Council offices, was only slightly hurt. lie had been seen talking to the girl. It is understood that hewished to marry her, but she rejected his suit.
