RATES FOR RABBITS.

The clerk of the board, Mr. IT. j Symcs, said that a rate on the acreage j basis of 33d. would provide £1095, and perhaps a little over. It was a conservative estimate. On the motion of the chairman, it was decided to rescind a previous resolution that a rate on the capital value be srtuck, and that instead a rate of 3:{d. per acre on all rateable property in the Apiti-Pohangina Rabbit Board district bo levied. The board then passed the formal resolution striking the rate for the period April 1, 1923, to March 31, 3 024, payments to be made in one sum on August 2(> next at the Pohangina I County Council offices. 'Arrangements in regard to showing' the newly appointed rabbit inspector, Mr. O F. Souness. over a territory to be worked were made. Accounts totalling £47 18/9 wero! passed for payment.
