FOXTON NOTES.

' PLUNKET SOCIETY. (Prom Our Own Correspondent). The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Mesdames Austin (president), F. Robinson, Walton, Owen, Chrystall, Wylie, McDonald, Trueman, and McMurray (hon. secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Pearson, Hines and Christie.

The Poxt'on Chamber of Commerce forwarded a donation of £2 2/, which was received with thanks. Mis Austin handed in £3 6/6, making a total of £l3 6/6, from the social afternoons arranged by her. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Austin for her efforts. Accounts amounting to £lB 11/ were passed for payment being nurse's half-year's salary and room rent. The nurse's report stated that she had visited Foxton four times during April. Adults' visits to her rooms totalled 31 and babies' 36; visits to homes totalled 5 and new cases 5, while letters and cards sent out totalled 7. SATURDAY'S FOOTBALL. Foxton Seniors journeyed to Otaki on Saturday and played a draw with Otaki, 3 points each". Foxton Juniors were defeated by Tokomaru by 3 to nil. Some valuable criticisms of players will be published in the "Times'" weekly football notes. Foxton Thirds played Levin Hovers on the racecourse and defeated them by one try to nil. Robinson scored after a good run but failed to goal. Foxton lost several good chances by McMurray geting off-side. Levin High School came to Foxton, and played Foxton's fourth team, and suffered defeat by 11 points to .nil. For the winners Delaney, at. half, played a good game, but some of the forwards were very lazy, and would not buck in as they should do. Several in the team need replacing.
