"THE QUEEN OF SHEBA."
AT THE LYCEUM.
Long before 8 o'clock last night every seat in this comfortable theatre was filled, many being unable to obtain admission, although extra seating accommodation had been provided. The Lyceum's Symphony Quartette rendered a delightful or-
chestral recital, Donizetti's "Lucrezia Borgia." Then followed the William Fox super special, "The Queen of Sheba," which, indeed, created a sensation. It is spectacularly magnilicent and dramatically superb. It leaves one gasping with amazement and admiration. The marriage of the Queen of Sheba to King Armud, her arrival at the court of King Solomon, the day of racing and games, the thrilling chariot race between Sheba and Princess Vashti, the arrival of David, the little Prince of Sheba; the battle between the forces of King'Solomon and those of Adonijah, his recreant brother; the farewell of the Queen of Sheba to King Solomon —all are scenes never to be forgotten. Betty Blythe is altogether charming in the exacting role of the Queen, Fritz Lieber is impressive as King Solomon, and all other members of the notable cast give excellent accounts of themselves. Great credit is due William Fox for having undertaken this colossal production and carried it through in such splendid fashion. There will be a special matinee this afternoon at 2.30 and the final screening takes place to-night, when another capacity house is certain. Plans are at Barrett's, day sales at Haybittle and Sons. Another magnificent feature is set down for screening to-morrow and Thursday, "Milestones," a new version of Arnold Bennett's famous stage play of three'generations, produced in six parts ,by Goldwym
