SATURDAY’S MATCHES. White clad figures commenced newly allotted games at the Sportsground ! and High School ground on Saturday. In the senior division. High School met R.S.A., and Old Boys tested the nettle of Railway upon favourable wickets. HIGH SCHOOL v. R.S.A. High School won the toss and * elected to bat. Bennett and Williamson who opened up, compiling 15 between them. Aim compiled a well made 41, and then McSweeney entered soon alter to compile an excellent 80 by careful play. OLD BOYS v. RAILWAY. Some fairly good individual scores were registered in this match, McVicar (40), Ly c (29). Pegden (22) and King (19) adding considerably to Rail, way’s total score of 164. Hoddcr cap tured three wickets for 32, and Bed. ford three for 35. Old Boys started well, time finding them with 95 down for the loss of five wickets. Hoddcr played well for his 43, making some pretty boundary shots. Sollitt adopted stonewalling tactics and reached 22 before lifting a ball to the hands of the bowler, Ongloy.
