ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting- of the Manawatu Association Football Executive was held last night, Mr J. Grant presiding. It was agreed to write to the Now Zealand Association asking whether it desired Manawatu to submit names of players, with the object of being selected for inclusion of either the North Island or test teams. A letter was received from the New Zealand Association intimating that the Manawatu Executive's challenge had been accepted, and would be referred to the Auckland Football Association, the holders. It also acknowledged the receipt of £7ii, Manawatu's guarantee for the Australian game.—The secretary reported that he had written to Auckland with reference to the Brown Shield match. He was further authorised to write again suggesting July 17th as a suitable date for the game. The selector (Mr Mouat) is to be asked to select A and B teams to play a match on June 3rd. It was resolved that the charges for the Australian game, to be held in Palmerston North en July 12th, be 1/- for admission and 1/- for the. stand. The Manawatu Rugby Football Union wrote agreeing lo allow the Executive the. use of the Showgrounds on July 12th for the Manawatu-Atts-tralian game.—Received. The Xew Zealand Association wrote forwarding instructions and information in connection with the Australian tour.—Received. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. The. following is the draw for Sat-urday:-—Seniors: Rangers v. St. Andrew's. Lancaster Park (Mr Parker); Y.M.C.A. v. Dawbers. North Street (Rev. Duncumb); R.S.A. a bye.
