Mr A. G. Bignell has been re-elected chairman of Ihe Wanganui Education Board. Mr Charles Mclntyre has been reappointed a member of the Wellington Land Board. An old resident of Levin, Mr Charles William Keys, died on Saturday, at the age of 78 years. Mr Arthur L. Upchurch has been appointed deputy-registrar of births, marriages, and deaths for Bulls, and Jlr Herbert S. Kyle for Rangitikei. The death occurred at the Taihape Hospital on Thursday of Mr George McGlashan, who for several years past has been general manager of the Ermont Box Company’s milling operations in the Ohutu district. The late Mr J. Henderson, whose death was reported from Wellington on Thursday, was well-known all over the Taranaki district, he having represented the Arm of E. W. Mills and Co. in that province for the past five years. He had been with the same firm for about 25 years, having commenced with them as a boy, and went to Taranaki from the West Coast custvict. The friends of Mr Joseph Rush, of Palmerston North, will regret to hear that his wife, Mrs Elizabeth Rush, died suddenly on Saturday night. The deceased, who was forty-three years of age, retired to rest in hex- usual health. About midnight she awakened her husband, and complained or severe pains in the head. A doctor was summoned, and she was immediately ordered to the hospital, where she died shortly after her admission. The cause of death was apparently haemorrhage of the brain. The annual conference of representatives of branches of the R.S.A. in the Wellington district, held in Palmerston North during the weekend. was attended by the following delegates: Messrs B. J. Sievwright (Wellington), W E Williams (Hawera), C. E. Johnston "(Waverley), W. H. Cunningham (Wanganui), H. E. Brabant (Wactava). R. St. J. Pedler (Waipawa) G. W, Duncan (Waipukurau), A. H. Delbert (Eketahuna), F. R. Bcetham (Masterton) and Dr. Gow (Levin). Thfre were also present the tohowing members of the district executive: Messrs H. B. Burdekm (vice-presi-dent) and C. Gomer (Hawera) R. J. F Aldrich (Wellington), A. A fora (Hastings) and J.' F. A., Hebcnton (Masterton). Messrs Collinson and Cunningharne Ltd are commencing 1 a Coupon Week from to-day. during which period they are issuing 10 coupons in the current advertisements to test tnc relative values of different media.
