AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
A. meeting of the Manawatu Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club was held at the Opera House last night. Mr 11. 1.. Voiing presiding over an! attendance of seven members. The. Palmerston Xorth Borough; Council wrote agreeing to reduce the percentage on gate takings to 10 per cent. —Tt was decided to forward a let-; ter of aprrcciation to the Council. j Owing to the Pongotea sports being! hep) on April sth. it was decided to j postpone the road race, to May 3rd. It was suggested that a Harrier i Club be formed under the auspices of| the Club. Messrs Turnbtill and Kil-j gour were appointed to go into the matter and report at the next meeting. Mr T. Rogers was appointed official time-keeper for all meetings. It was decided to write thanking Mr C. J. Danahey for the generous offer of a cup to be allocated at the Club's discretion.
