xV HASTINGS RESOLUTION. 5 (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, Last Night. After being addressed by Miss England, of the Women’s National Council, Wellington, the Hastings branch of the W.C.T.U. passed the following resolution: “That while recognising i gratefully the efforts being made by j the Health Department to combat the |. spread of venereal disease, the Hast- . ings' branch wishes to accord its strong* protest against the proposal , contained in the new Health Bill for ' the compulsory treatment of either f male, or female sufferers. It urges the t Government to increase ‘in every possible way the opportunity for free i treatment, without undue publicity; also, that the Government be urged to place aside a sum of money to establish free treatment throughout the ] Dominion.”
