JUVENILE MAIL THIEVES.
SENTENCED BY COURT (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. Three lads of 16 years, James Elliott. Edgar John Gilbert Gregory, and Eric Onion, appeared for sentence at the Supreme Court on Saturfor thefts of postal packets at Taumarunui. The judge said that they appeared to have started out on a course of systematic plundering. It was impossible to gauge the misery which would be caused by tampering with postal packets. Elliott was sentenced to two years’ reformative treatment, and the others to one year each.
