NEGOTIATIONS COLLAPSE. REASONS FOR BREAKDOWN. NATIONALIST PROPAGANDA. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Sunday, 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, November 19. In consequence of the collapse of the Egyptian negotiations, Adly Pasha and the other delegates will leave tomorrow. The continued presence of British troops in Egypt is only one cause of the breakdown, an equally important one being Lord Curzon’s decision not to relinquish effective political control.. The Foreign Office deprecates the premature piecemeal disclosure of the contents of the proposed agreement, and the correspondence between them and the Egyptian delegates, before the documents were published officially, simultaneously in England and Egypt. . __ ~ Meanwhile, the Egyptian Nationalists are continuing their propaganda in an attempt to influence English opinion in favour of the view that independence should ui jiven to Egypt.
