THE STINNES OCTOPUS.
FURTHER ACQUISITIONS. (Received Sunday, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, November 18. An extension of Herr Stinnes’ ramifications to Hungary is reported from Vienna. It is stated that the magnate has acquired three prominent Hungarian newspapers. A VISIT TO ENGLAND. (Received Monday, 0.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 20. Herr Stinnes has arrived in London attended ‘by a considerable suite. He attempted to avoid an interview with journalists. The “Sunday Express” alleges that the magnate has come to attempt a deal,' in connection with aniline dyes, with the Government. He refused to talk to the reporters, with reference to his scheme to assist in reparation payments by means of foreign credits. A Downing Street official, interviewed, denied the truth of the Berlin statement that Herr Stinnes had been invited to London by Mr Lloyd George, who is unlikely to meet him accordingly.
