ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROSY. The story of “Barefisted Gallagher,” starring William Desmond, is a whizz —lots of peppery action which moves fast, at the same time carrying a brand of humour which gives the popular big star plenty of opportunity for the manipulation of his fists and Irish grin. "Two Wise Wives,” a C-reel Paramount, the serial and a Mack Sennett comedy will also be shown. EVERYBODY’S. "The Miracle Man” is the attraction for to-night at Everybody’s. This is probably the finest picture ever screened to date and Everybody's should be crowded out with this programm.e. MR. GEORGE DEAN. Mr George Dean who is once again visiting Palmerston is an old and tried performer—taut as one manager remarked —"at the apex of his career.” English comedians of any standing are decidedly rare, and in Mr Dean we have one who has elected to stay in the Colonies longer than the average "oversea” perforiper. Mr Dean’s success in vaudeville goes back a few years, to the paling days of Harry Rickard’s Companies, and it was in the capacity of vocal entertainer and stage manager that he visited New Zealand, and was associated with Paul Cinguevalli, "The Daitos,’ 1 “The Haytors,” and other popular artists. Mr Dean has also been seen in pantomime in New Zealand —the big productions of the late Percy R. Dix were due to his careful stage management, one many will remember, "The Babes In the Wood.” produced at the Theatre Royal, Wellington, when he essayed the role of "The Baron,” with the popular saying: How dare you? You blackguard! Since that time Mr Dean has devoted himself largely to vaudeville work, and is giving his attention to his original monologue: Sense Versus Nonsense. The Marvellous Howards will make a return visit in this programme at Everybody’s on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next. Included in the picture portion of the entertainment will be the Irish romance "Shamus O’Brien” to which' Mr Dean recites a specially written prologue and the first and only authentic pictures taken of His Holiness, Pope Benedict XV. at the Vatican; this is a complete picture showing the Holy City from an aeroplane, and closeups of The Colosseum, The Vatican, The Choir, The Knights of Columbus, arrival of the Pope, The Guard, Our Lady of Lourdes, The Pope at Prayer Conducting Mass, and Blessing the Knights of Columbus.
