AWARDS TO INVESTORS.
THE DRAGON-FLY ENGINE. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Friday, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 6. The Royal Commission on awards to inventors considered a claim of the Walton Motors, Limited, for £609,000 on account of aero engines. Eleven thousand dragon-flies were ordered, but only one thousand were delivered, and none were used in the war. Sir Gordon Hewart said that £2,000,000 of the taxpayers' moneys had been spent in a vain effort to make the dragonfly engine practicable.
