Talaat Pasha, a former Grand Jizler of Turkey, was assassinated by an .Armenian while walking in the street. He was living under an assumed name in a flat near the scene of the tragedy. The motive is said to be revenge for the Armenian mass&cfes. Talaat Pasha was walking on Wednesday, when a youth overtook and tapped him on the shoulder, claiming acquaintance. He then drew a revolver and shot the Pasha in the head. .A second shot was aimed at and wounded a lady. Onlookers seized the assassin and almost lynched him before the police intervened.
