ASIATIC EGGS.
(Per Press Association.} WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Board of Trade is holding an inquiry into the question of the •egg trade generally, at Christchurch on 22nd March. [Representations recently were made to the Government for prohibition upon the importation of Asiatic eggs. The only opposition to such prohibition has come from the bakers, pastrycooks and confectioners. The Board has invited representatives of the producers, importers and users of eggs to be present. Advantage will be taken of the presence in Christchurch of the Tariff Commission, and representatives of the Departments of Public Health and Agriculture will also bo present.
