EXPENSIVE GO-SLOW.
[By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] SYDNEY. Yesterday. It is suggested in some quarters that the go-slow methods at Cockatoo Island dockyards made the cost of naval shipping almost prohibitive. Unofficial estimates show that the cruiser Adelaide has already cost £1,000,000, and owing to the length of time the building is taking she will be out of date when ready for commission. Her sister ships, which were built in England, were completed long ago for £450,000.
