H AAV ERA RACES. (Per Press Association.) HAWERA, East Night. After the heavy rain Yesterday the weather cleared beautifully fine for the Egmont meeting. The tote put through £44,659, against £41,997 last year. Results; — 1 Ohawa Hurdles. —Zola 1, Hipling 2, To Toa 3. Also ran: Khartoum, Explorer, Signysian, Polthogue, Toatere. Kipling was first out, heading off Signysian and To Toa, but Zola caught him two chains from the post and won by three-quarters of a length, three lengths separating the next two. Time, 3mln IBisec. Flying Handicap.—lnah 1, Incme' 2, Blackmail 3. Also ran: Warplane, Acre, Delight, Listowcl and Crucelle. At the home turn Inah led by throe lengths and lasted long enough to win by three-quarters of a length, a head separating the next two. Warplane was lame when they finished. Time, Imin 14 l-ssec. Mere Mere Handicap.—Canyon 1, Irapuka 2. Hori 3. Also ran: Plying Master, War Nurse, Ncmaline, Plano, Valdlna, Top Dog, Lady Paula, Pouma, Master Mick and Innera. Gray rode a great finish, beating Hori for second, but Canyon was half a length too good. Time, Imin 2 2-ssec. Egmont Cup.—Marqueteur 1, Rude 2, Landslide 3. Also ran: Surveyor, Starland, Simon and Pentc. Deeley brought Marqueteur along at the live furlongs’ post and Rude put in a great run, the pair fighting a fine finish, the winner gaining the verdict by threequarters of a length, with one and ahalf lengths separating the next two. Time, 2min 35 2-ssec., Apprentices’ Handicap.—Festive 1, Quiniro 2, Automoana 3. Also ran: Piro Piro, Skylight, Equitable, Kato, County Air, Sunny Jim, Interest, Lady Pat and Reretoa.
