July 2 9 —Brackenfield Hunt Club. NOTES. Napier Park races to-morrow and Saturday. Hawke's Bay Jockey Club first clay weights are due on Monday next, acceptances at S.SO p.m. same day. The acceptances for Napier Park first day events are well up to the average, and there should be some fine racing at sunny Napier to-morrow and Saturday. There are thirteen in the Moteo Hack Hurdles, of 1| miles, including several beginners, of whom Birkenvale, Badogeur and Pretty Bobby are the best known. All Over (11.6), Pretty Bobby (10.8), and Badogeur are reported to be doing well at the jumping game, and may fill the places. There is a big field in the Petane Hack Steeplechase, of 2 miles. the Aucklander, Oakleigh, being top weight with 11.12. Tornea (9.<) jumped well at Otaki, and the two races which he had there should sharpen him up. He, Manhattan and the top weight, should keep the rest busy. ~ The Stewards' Stakes, of one mile, will be a good betting race, several of the acceptors having been prominent during the autumn racing. Maihoa i (10.10), Rising-ham (9.5). and Hookah (9.0), are all good at the distance. Fourteen horses have paid up tor the Steeplechase, of three miles, including Foernan, who won the race last year. First Bine (10.9), Foernan (10.10), and Maraetotara (lO.i) should run well. There is a big field in the Badies Necklace, of Ik miles. Vermillion (ll.S). Rienzi (10.9), and Army Service (11.11) will have plenty of supporters. .... There are a lot of light weights in the Ahuriri Hurdles, of 12 miles, which looks as if Zola (10.8), Goldstream (10.2), and Paddington Green (9.13) will fill the places. The Settlers' Handicap, of six furlongs, should be a go between Ngata (10.8), Otauru Kid (10.4), and Molyncaux (9.12). The winter is now here in real earnest and you will want a rain coat to keep the wet out and a warm one to keep the cold out, whilst attending the winter meeting. Alf.
