"THE LUCK OF THE NAVY."

The great naval drama, “The Luck of the Navy,” will be staged for the first time in Palmerston North by the Allan Wilkie Dramatic Company at the Opera House for two nights only, on Monday, 21st. This play scored a tremendous “hit” in London, where it ran for nearly two years, and is now being presented with exceptional success at the Manhattan Opera House, New York. The plot concerns the adventurous experiences of Lieutenant Stanton, the commander of a British submarine, who is lured to her mansion by a society hostess, who is in reality a German spy. The action of the piece is described as exciting in the extreme, and the climax is reported to be quite thrilling. Mr Allan Wilkie will appear as Lieutenant Stanton, Miss Frediswyde HunterWatts as his fiancee. Mr R. A. Long as her brother, Mr J. Castle-Morris (late of the J. C. Williamson Company) as the chief German spy. Miss Helen Fergus as the pseudo-English society hostess, and Mr Augustus Neville as sub-Lieutenant Louis Peel, her son. There is a strong supporting cast. The scenery is a replica of the original London production, having been specially prepared from photographs. "The Rotters” will be staged for two nights, “The Temporary Gentleman" one night, and ' Hindle Wakes,” evcrvbody’s favourite, ror one night also. The box will be opened at Oates’ music stores on Thursday next. The season will last for six nights.
