ANNIVERSARY SERVICES.
AT ST. PAUL’S. The anniversary services of St. Paul’s Methodist Church attracted exceptionally large congregations, both morning and evening, the number of men present being a notable feature. A strong choir, under the leadership of Mr Tregurtha, rendered the anthems, “How Excellent is Thy Name” and “Leave his Not,” during the morning service, and “The Day is Past” and “At Even’ ’ere the Sun was Set” in the everting. Miss Burrow, a new arrival from Nelson, gave an impressive rendering of “Galilee” as a solo during the evening service. The Rev. G. S. Cook took for his morning text. “We have a strong city,” from Isaih, 25th chapter, and Ye have gone away from mine ordinance,” from Malachi, 3rd chapter, for the evening.
