THE MOTOR FIEND.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Probably you are already cognisant of the fact that the night before last an elderly employee of the Council, while riding a push bike at French’s corner, Fitzherbert Street, was run down by a motor-car (travelling- at the usual walking pace), and although the man on the bike suffered the breaking of two ribs and collarbone, the bike also mangled, yet the miscreant who was in the car rode on before his number could be taken, and as far as is known has not yet •been traced. Truly, we live in breakneck times, and it is a case of every man take care of themselves, and many of the car owners will not even take the trouble to sound an alarm on approaching a corner, let alone ease their speed. There are bully times ahead for the motor garages and bike hospitals.—l am, etc., % SPARKING PLUG.
