APITI NOTES.

Nurse West has during the past week been giving a scries of lectures at the local Technical School, and has been accorded a very attentive hearing. Several of our local sports visited Ohingaiti sports on Wednesday last, but the only one who was successful in competitions was W. Osborne, who won the tilting the rings. A number of local horses for various competitions are going to Banglwahia Show on Wednesday next.

The usual fortnight.lv meeting of the M.U., 1.0.0. F., was held in the Oddfellows 7 Hall on Saturday night last, P.G. Bro. H. W Watson presiding over a fair attendance. Officers for the various seats were nominated. The election will take place on Saturday week. It was also decided that the outside hall be let for public meetings, etc.. and that Bro. N. S. McLeod be given charge of letting and collecting fees.

2VI r and Mrs L. F. Vail returned home last week, after spending a feu* weeks at Levin and Fcilding. \

Mr and Mrs J. Porter, who have been spending a holiday at the seaside near Wellington, returned home last week. Messrs IT. Jensen and J. Porter have taken over the motor lorry formerly run by Mr W. Guy, between Apiti and Feilding, and the new firm started as from March 1.

A line display of trophies for competition at the forthcoming show are on view at Mr Wm. Riekard's store, and

will be displayed up to the date of the show, on the 17th inst. Intending exhibitors are reminded re securing their members' tickets, and also that stork entries must be in the secretary's hands not later than, nine o'(dock on Saturday night next, so as to give the committee ample time to provide pens, etc. A new store is in course of construction, where the old store was destroyed some months back. The work is being carried out by Mr Olliver, of Palmersi on North.
