SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT.

AT KELVIN GROVE. “Cissie in Toyland,” a very successful children’s entertainment, was staged at Kelvin Grove Hall last night to a large audience. The efforts of the older children of »thc school, to whom the principal parts were allotted, provoked great applause, and the piece was very enjoyable throughout. Of the players foremost were Miss B. Andrews, as “Cissic, ” Miss M. Wilson, Queen of Dolls, who danced and sung very artistically; a wee “Kewpie, ” I. Wilson, and Mi«s A. Prentice as “Dame Trot.” Teddy bears, soldiers, pierrots, golliwogs, etc., completed the east. During the evening musical items were contributed by Misses B. Andrews, M. Wilson, G. Gow. M. and T. Pratt and E. McGuire, wh" R. and M. Gibbs recited. Supper and dancing followed the entertainment and the chairman, Mr Townsend, congratulated teachers and scholars, and the organisers, Mr and Mrs E H. Walters and Miss Buchanan, on ihc excellence of their concert. The accompaniments . were provided bj*- Miss Pratt, to whom a presentation was made for her services.
