CATTLE STAMPEDE.
(Per Press Association.) THAMES, Last Night. A mob of cattle which wore grazing in a paddock at Pavawai broke on to the railway line* ahead of a train which was corning into Thames from Auckland. About 150 animals stampeded on tho railway bridge over the Ivauaoranga river. The train was held up for about an hour removing the ca«ttlc. About 20 beasts, ranging in value up to £l6, were bogged or drowned in the deep mud and water of the river-bed.
