The Late Father Dore

A PROPOSED MEMORIAL. A largely attended meeting was held yesterday afternoon to consider the erection of a memorial to the late Chaplain-Captain Core. It was unanimously decided that the memorial take the form of an altar or stained glass window in the new Catholic Church, which is to be erected shortly. As Father Dove was chaplain to the New Zealand Mounted Brigade, including men from all parts of the Dominion, it was decided to afford an opportunity to people throughout the whole of New Zealand to contribute towards the memorial. A committee of twenty was set up, Mr E. L. Broad was appointed chairman, Mr F. J. Oakley secretary, and Messrs Goring Johnston and C. A. Loughnan joint treasurers.
