Owing to a sudden attack of appendicitis, Miss Githa Russell underwent an operation on Friday and is now making satisfactory progress. ' The fifth son of Mr and M rs P. J. O’Regaii, aged thirteen, (lied suddenly at Wellington on Wednesday through pneumonia supervening on an inflamed throat. Messrs M. L. Jobson and J. A. Stanaway have passed their public service examination, securing free places. In the entrance examination, they secured 33rd and 47th places respectively. Mr James A. Burt, eldest son of Mr Alex. Burt, and a director of A. and T. Burt, Ltd., died at Dunedin yesterday, aged 51 years. He had been suffering from heart trouble for some time.
