BARTON BROS. CIRCUS

Barton Bros., with their complete new circus commence a season in Palmerston this evening, which will con'clude on Saturday evening. Since the previous visit Mr Barton has searched far and wide for new artists, and has been successful in his enterprise, and is able to produce several of the most sensational turns ever introduced into a circus arena. The three Dentines are marvellous aerialists avho perform a number of death defying feats. Miss Linda Dentine, one of the clever team, goes through some remarkable evolutions on a rope held in the teeth of her partners who hang by the toes to a horizontal ladder. 'Shand and Shand are comedy acrobats with a great reputation, and present an extremely clever and original act. Miss Kitty Shand is an acknowledged lady champion acrobat. '' Moe, Aerons, and Alvino," direct from St. Leons, United States Circus, have brought with them quite a budget of humorous sayings and sketches. Another special attraction for the tour is "Coco and Chico," engaged by arrangement with Messrs Fuller and Sons. They are described as "Human Chimpanzees," and introduce wonderful and weird acts, which cause great amusement. Popular favourites are Alicia, a skilful lady juggler, Miss Kate Montgomery, the lady equestrienne. Miss Ethel Ashton, the clever and versatile artist. These artists have become very popular during the present tour. Mr Roy Barton is still recognised as the premier bareback rider of the Dominion. Tex McCloud is a genuine Mexican.cowboy and a skilled shot. A wonderful performance will be given by Gardiner and Le Mar, champion exponents of ju jitsu. Tommy James, the well-known buck jumping rider, will appear with a full complement of trained horses, mules, and monkeys. The combination is one of the largest and best that has ever toured the Dominion. A daring fcnd senpational free exhibition will be given by Mr Victor Dentine at 7.30 on Thursday evening, when he will slide from the top of the huge tent suspended only by the teeth.
