PERSONAL.

The Rev. H. G. Rosher, late Vicar of All Saints, has been appointed Chaplain-Captain to the Forces, and at the time of writing (August 12th) expected to leave England en route to the Dardanelles. Mrs W. Woodmore, of Palmerston North, yesterday received news of the death at Wellington of her mother, Mrs Tonkins, of Kumara. She leaves three sons—Constable Tonkins of Nelson, and William and Daniel Tonkins of Wellington, and four daughters, including Mrs Draper and Mrs Benfield, of Wellington, and Mrs W. Woodmore of Palmerston.

"4/11 a leg—seats free! " is a ticket that pulls one up in front of Collinson and Cunninghame's clothing department window. It refers to Roslyn saddle tweed trousers bought specially for working purposes. The price is thus only 9/10 and for cash the firm's war rebate reduces this to 9/1.
