Three were killed and 27 injured in one mine. Geologists fear that the town will sink. Many sky-scrapers collapsed.
A CURIOUS CASE By Electric Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. Received 10.45 p.m. SYDNEY., Sept. 29. Recently a crowd watching the recapture of a- chimpanzee wildly scattered when the animal made a forward movement, and a woman in the crowd dropped dead. The jury awarded deceased's husband £450 damages against the owners of the chimpanzee on the ground that death was the result of negligence and want of care in keeping the animal.
