HANDED OVER TO MANAWATU

At the annual re-union of the Sixth New Zealand Contingent to-night General Godley, who was present, an nounced that during his recent visit to England he met Col. Colwin, who was with the Sixth Contingent in South Africa. Colonel Colwin asked him to bring to New T Zealand a handsome silver cup for presentation to the Contingent, General Godley presented the' cup to-night anff read a telegram from Col. Colwin suggesting that the cup be presented to Sixth Mounted Rifles to uphold the traditions of the Sixth Contingent. This course has been agreed to and as a consequence the cup will be handed to the Sixth Mounteds (Manawatu and Wellington) for annual competition which will probably take the form of shooting.
