An interesting story of hypnotic treatment for victims of alcohol ism was given by Dr. Hugh Wingfield,
He related how he fad hypnotised his patients aud ha; then ftggtsleii to them an absence of all craving, that without drick they couh better bear the troubles which had driven them to it, an i that if they were offered drink they were to refuse it. He lad sometimes suggested, whilst t ey were in that condition, that alco'ol would make t' em Hick, bnt he found that several times a patient preferred to be sick after each drink rather than not have the alcohol at all. Of 216 cases which Jad come unf'er his sotice, i e all but twenty had shown an improvement as the result of t e treatment.
