MUNICIPALITY FINED. Press Association.—By Telegraph. Wellington, Last Night. At the Magistrate's Couit the Lower Hutt Borough Council wai fined £2 for a breach of the carpenters' award by employing non-union-ists to do carpenters' work and failing to notify the secretary of the union.

Labourers were employed making wooden frames for concrete during the enlargement of a resevoir. The Magistrate decided that the work was carpenters' work; hence the defendants had been guilty of a breacn of the award.
