FOOTBALL.
A meeting of junior and third class } Rugby players is called for to-night j at the Opera House supper , ooms at I 8 o'clock. MANAWATU RUGBY UNION. The Management Committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union met last nght. Present Messrs J. F. Manning (president, in the chair), B. Jacobs, R. Kilpatrick, W. Carruthers, C. McWilliams, L. Jamieson, and the secretary. . An apology was received tor absence from Mr Mansford. The United Club were granted permission to play a seven aside team at Morton next Wednesday. It was decided that the shield presented by Mr Pirani, which was competed for by the defunct fourth grade teams, be handed over to the public schools playing under the jurisdiction of the M.R.U. for competition. „ , Rule 15 will be strictly enforced in regard to teams playing in colours other than registered by the clubs. It was decided that all clubs should send in their entry fees before next Monday evening.

Feilding, at Awahuri; United a bye. May 10.—United v. County, at Showgrounds; Oriental v. Feilding, at Feilding; Western a bye. May 17.—United v. Western, on Showgrounds; County v. Oriental, at Awahuri; Feilding a bye. May 24.—United v. Feilding, at Feilding; County v. Western, on Showgrounds; Oriental a bye. JUNIOR. April 26.—Western t. United, Showgrounds; County v. Feilding, at \wahuri; High School v. Ashhurst, at Ashhurst. THIRD. April 26.—High School v. Feilding, on High School ground; Western v. United, Showgrounds.
