WOMAN ON TRIAL. A*w)Ciation. —By Telegraph Invercargill, Last Night. A married woman named Dixon, the wife of a Nigntcaps miner, was to-day committed for trial on a charge ot uttering a counterfeit half sovereign. Evidence was girun that the accused hid teimeren a gilded sixpence as half a sovereign in i.vo shops at Nightcaps at Christ.;u;s anil New Year. Accused reserved her 'defence.
