PERSONAL.
The Hon. W. H. Herries passed through to Wellington yesterday. The engagement is announced of Miss Charlotte Mary Beaucharap, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Beauchamp, to Lieut-Colonel John C. C. Perkins, Controller of Military Accounts. Poona, India.
Mr E. Newman, M.P., of Marton, visited Palmerston yesterday. Messrs Payne, M.P., and Guthrie, M.P., were also in Palmerston yesterday.
Mr F. T. Wimble, of a well-known Sydney and Melbourne firm of typefounders, has been visiting Palmerston. Mr W. R. Kells, of Palmerston N., whose health has been unsatisfactory for the last few months, has now returned home from Wellington convalescent.
Boys jersey suits in pleasing shades of reseda, myrtle, saxe. navy, brown and cream, with caps to match, are being offered by Collinson and Cunninghame at 7/11 and 10/0. The suits are all pure wool, warm and cosy, and stand well the hard wear the average healthy boys give them,***
