A KILLING MACHINE.
THOUSAND SHOTS A MINUTE Press Assn—By Telegraph—Copyright Melbourne, Yesterday. A local engineer has invented a gun which he claims is a great improvement on the Maxim. The latter fires four hundred rounds a minute, and through a new type shortly issued attains six hundred a minute.
One barrel alone of the new invention fires four hundred and the other six hundred; and the two barrels, used alternately, give a speed of a thousand rounds a minute.
