Macartney and Trumper were brilliant. Kelleway made 38, Barbeur 56 Macartney 125, Minnett 28, Trumper not out 122, Lane not out 20. MELBOURNE TEAM.
Dunediu, Last Night. The weather was unfavourable today for the cricket match between the South Melbourne team and 22 representing the Central District Association. Heavy rain fell overnight, and before play started a hailstorm was experienced. South Melbourne made 18!) in the lirst innings —Giller (?, Kyle 34, and Kenny 33, being the chief scorers. Central District made 154 for 17 wickets in the second innings—F. Usher 51, R. Edie 22, G. Edie 1»>. The innings was then declared closed, leaving the visiters to get 97 to wiu. The visitors made 94 for four wickes—Scott 37, Deas 29—and the match was therefore drawn.
