MINING UNREST.
AUSTRALIANS RUFFLED. (Press Association.—By Telegraph. Received 12.15 a.m. Sydney, Jan. 10. There is much unrest over the threats of a general strike among the southern miners in consequence of the non-reinstatement of Russell. Mr Carmichael states that he learned that the Mount Kembla Company did not intend to reinstate him ; therefore he remitted the matter to the Industrial Court. Considering the extreme importance of the matter he asked for the appointment of a special judgu to deal with it.
