He was cleauiug a glass stoppered bottle with hot water and in slmsiug it caused the bottle to !- burst. Whicli statement brought forth the assertion of another councillor that so far back as 1871 his father used to navigata the river in a small steamer up as far aa JaoLeytown and Ngawakatau.
