His Worship the Mayor, who is also ohairman of the local com mittee in connection with the coming visit of the Choir, has been moving in the matter with Mr Gorlitz, the representative of Dr Harriss, in New Zealand. He Eaw Mr Gorliiz as he passed through on Saturday, and by '"is deaJ'e the latter cabled to Dr Harris at Sydney. His Worship ytater'lay sfternoon reoeived a telegram from Mr Gorlitz to the effect that Dr Harriss' reply was unfavourable to the orohcs'ra ooming here, and that he stated that a similar programme to that to be given at Palmorston had just bees given with phenomenal succass at Sydney. That ofoourso is begging the qwstion. We have uo doubt that the pregnmmt) as it stands would be a delightful one to hear, but ' V ' UH '' ipoiujc'rotfefriiat where gWsn wlthCUfe orobeafera as a'matinerf at titi big centos, there has baeti opportunity of hearing the Choir ft items with ftahestra at night, That" is precisely th(i position in Sydney, and therefore the reply from Sydney has no application Ifflje;
