Among the exhibits at the Winter Show is a. fine military display of trophies won by the different volunteer corps in the Manawatn, besides the hdndsirne shield won b» the Linton Rifle Olub at the last Tientham meeting. The High Sohool Board met toft evening. The Old Pupils" Association handed over £2O oollected and received a vote of thanfcs, as also did Mr R. MoNab for his lecture. It was resolved to oloso the sohool on Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday. The reports of the Rector of the High School (Mr Vernon) and Director of the Technical Sohool (Mr Opie) were adopted, both reporting good attendances. Mr Opie reported that the tone of the Taohnioal' School was uf a much higher grade than in previous years. His Worship the Mayor presided at a riieeting addresed by Mrs Barton at the Muuioipal Hall hut evening in furtherance tf the No-License ornsade. Mrs Barton was received with enthusiasm and traversed considerable ground, driving home her points with many anecdotes redolent of Scotch ■humour.
